Homeopathy for Swine Flu

rkhera's picture

Swine Flu is actually a strand of a flu virus called H1N1. This H1N1 is a mutation of the swine flu virus. Pigs typically carry this strand of virus. This virus generally will not kill pigs. Humans rarely contract swine flu. Swine flu can not be caught by eating pork products. Swine flu is only contracted via air born. The current strand (2009) is assumed to have started near Mexico city at a pig farm owned by a US company. However, no pigs were have to been found in the H1N1 virus. Closed areas are places were swine flu can spread rapidly. Areas such as subways, buses, planes, office buildings are places where the H1N1 virus can spread since they are enclosed. H1N1 virus effects people almost identically to the flu influenza. People that may contacted the H1N1 virus experience fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Allopathic solutions for the swine flu outbreak include Tamiflu (oseltamivir) or Relenza (zanamivir). These drugs can potentially shorten the duration of the swine flu by a day. The side effects of these drugs include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bronchitis, stomach pain, dizziness and headache. Most people make a full recovery from H1N1 without the use of any drugs at all. Oscillococcinum is a very popular homeopathic drug that is used to shorten the duration of the regular flu virus. This drug has been proven in several trials to reduce the duration of the influenza virus by about 6 hours without any side effects. However, this drug has never been tested on H1N1 virus. Oscillococcinum also claims to prevent the flu but trials have shown no evidence of flu prevention with this drug. Homeopathy was used effectively in the Spanish flu outbreak in 1918. The homeopathy mortatily rate was 1%. This was much lower than the rate of death used with conventionally medicine. The homeopathic remedies used to treat this flu outbreak were Byronia and Gelsemium. Most cases used Gelsemiun to treat the spanish flu. These remedies are also commonly used to treat the common flu.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no vaccine for the H1N1. There is really no way to prevent people from catching the swine flu other than avoiding contact with people that have caught the diesease. You can boost up your immune system by taking vitamin C, beta carotein, vitamin D and antioxidants. This help you better fight off the H1N1 virus.

For healthy individuals with strong immune systems, the swine flu is really nothing to worry about. Most people in the US that have contracted the swine flu have survived without any issues. The common flu has killed far more people than the swine flu has.

Homoepathy & Swine Flu

The virus is spreading in clusters throughout India.Fatality Rate is the highest in India. It affects people of all ages with varying symptoms depending on the susceptibility of the individual. First it attacks the upper respiratory organs and then lower respiratory organs. If homoeopathic medicines are taken in the first stage itself chances of cure are almost 90 percent. Later stage needs hospitalisation. For further advise & medicines contact me by email at sivaramanenator @ gmail.com.

FAQ'S REGARDING SWINE FLU

• What is influenza – A(H1N1)

Influenza – A (H1N1) (earlier know as swine flu) is a new influenza virus causing illness in people. First detected in Mexico in April, 2009, it has spread to many countries in the World. Swine flu is basically a misnomer. This was originally referred to as “swine flu” because laboratory testing showed that many of the genes in this new virus were very similar to those found in pigs in North America. Further on, it has been found that this new virus has gene segments from the swine, avian and human flu virus genes. The scientists calls this a ‘quadruple reassortant” virus and hence this new (novel) virus is christened “influenza-A (H1N1) virus.”

• Influenza A(H1N1) outbreak

It is causing an epidemic among humans in Mexico and it has spread to Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Denmark, Ecuador, El Salvador, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UK and USA.

GUIDELINES FOR SCHOOLS/COLLEGES/INSTITUTIONS ON INFLUENZA A/H1N1

There have been some cases of Influenza A H1N1 virus among students and staff in certain schools, primarily in Delhi and Maharashtra. There has been considerable speculation over the need for closure of schools to control the outbreak. This matter has been considered by the Joint Monitoring Group in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. All schools and colleges are advised to observe the following guidelines for managing cases of infection of Influenza AH1N1.

(i) Any student or staff member showing flu like symptoms such as fever, cough, running nose and difficulty in breathing should be allowed to stay at home for a period of 7 to 10 days.

(ii) Educational institutions should not insist on production of medical certificate by the student/staff.

(iii) Educational institutions should monitor the health status of such students/staff who might have come in contact with a suspected case of Influenza AH1N1 to see whether they develop flu like symptoms. In case they do so, they should be allowed to stay home, as outlined at (i) above

(iv) In case of students staying in Hostels, the educational institutions would not only monitor the health status of the students, but also that of care providers. It has to be ensured that the care providers wear face mask and wash hands regularly. It might not be advisable to send the boarders back to home, as it would spread infection further.

(v) Educational institutions are further encouraged to report such cases to local health officers for further monitoring.

(vi) Given the current magnitude of the spread of AH1N1 infection and the fact that the current virus is fairly mild, closure of educational institutions on account of any student/staff member falling ill with flu like symptoms is not recommended.

(vii) In the first place, the schools should discourage the excursions of the students to the affected countries.

(viii) In case if the students had proceeded to affected countries on unavoidable tours, then on their return, if some students show flu like symptoms of fever, sore- throat , cough , body ache, running nose, difficulty breathing etc. they should be advised to abstain from attending school and be allowed to stay at home for a period of 7 to 10 days.
